Official Name of Committee: Senior Citizens Advisory Committee
Short name of Committee: SCAC
Purpose: To serve in an advisory capacity to City Council and staff on matters that impact the quality of life of senior citizens in the City of Welland.
Mandate/Terms of Reference: Senior Citizens Advisory Committee Terms of Reference.
Parks, Recreation & Culture Master Plan
Meeting Schedule: Typically the first Monday of every month; no meeting in July or August. Meeting Time: 4:00 p.m.

Members and term: The following members are appointed for the Term of Council (the term of the current City Council expires on November 30, 2014):

Councillor Pat Chiocchio; Douglas Rapelje, Arnold Steed; Shelley Fripp; Phyllis Pelette; Bunny Alexander; Sean Keays; Joan Elliott; Neil McGregor; John Rose; Anne Osborne.
Sub Committees: A “Management Committee” was established to oversee the implementation of the Age-Friendly Community Project (AFCP) across Niagara (approximate term three (3) years).  The “Local Action Committee” for the City of Welland is a sub-committee of the Management Committee; therefore, an ad-hoc committee of the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee.  Councillor Dan Fortier is the City of Welland Council Representative for the Local Action Committee.
