Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council 2011/2012
Short name of ABC: MYAC
Purpose:
  • To keep Council informed of important matters affecting youth.
  • To act as a positive advocate for youth.
  • To seek input from youth on important matters affecting youth via surveys, forums and workshops and to address these issues through presentations to City Council, events or initiatives.
  • To support events created by the Council that relate to the mandate.
  • To provide leadership experience for youth.
  • To help enhance the image of youth in the City of Welland.
Mandate/Terms of Reference: Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council Terms of Reference.
Meeting Schedule: Typically the 1st Wednesday of each month from October through June.  Meeting Time: 4:30 p.m.

(member composition/ representation, etc.) 		All youth interested in becoming involved must complete the application process annually with the exception of the Executive members; the outgoing Council will vote in the next year' s executive membership at the last regular meeting of the year. Committee meets October through June, but may have a special event planning meeting in the summer.
