There have also been changes to the Request for Reconsideration (RFR) and Appeal processes for the 2009 tax year. If you do not agree with the Current Value Assessment (CVA) of your property, you may appeal this value by filing an RFR (Request for Reconsideration) form until March 31st of the taxation year. Previously, the deadline date was December 31st of the taxation year. For specific details of your assessment, please contact MPAC at 1-866-296-6722. If a property, or a portion of it, is classified as residential, farm or managed forest, it is mandatory to file a Request for Reconsideration (RFR) prior to filing an appeal with the Assessment Review Board (ARB). Property owners have 90 days to file an appeal with the Assessment Review Board (ARB) after MPAC has notified them of its decision. For all other property classifications, it is not mandatory to file a Request for Reconsideration (RFR) before filing an appeal with the Assessment Review Board (ARB).
